Dominion Enterprises ( will hold its third annual blood drive today in support of the American Red Cross. Dominion Enterprises encourages employees in its Norfolk, VA corporate office to sign up for the event, and has had excellent volunteer participation. Past events resulted in 283 pints of blood collected, which was 30% above the goals set by the American Red Cross. Dominion Enterprises has been recognized for their continued blood drive participation in support of humanitarian care.

“We are grateful for sponsors like Dominion Enterprises who continue to support the mission of the American Red Cross,” said Kristen Hatfield, marketing program manager for the American Red Cross - Mid Atlantic Blood Services Region. “The summer is one of the most difficult times of year for blood collection. Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and Dominion Enterprises’ employees will help replenish the blood supply during our upcoming blood drive.”

Dominion Enterprises expects over 70 employees to participate in this Red Cross blood drive, which includes the use of double-cell collection devices. These machines separate and collect two units of red cells, and then safely return the remaining parts of the blood, to ensure that a donor’s blood volume is the same at the end of the donation as it was at the beginning.

Dominion Enterprises began its partnership with the American Red Cross in 2010 and has since won awards from the Mid-Atlantic Red Cross for surpassing blood drive goals.
