ShelterBox USA, an international humanitarian relief organization that provides emergency shelter and lifesaving equipment to disaster survivors worldwide, has joined the Clinton Global Initiative (GCI), which exists to inspire, connect and empower a community of global leaders to forge solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.

ShelterBox USA, which responds to disasters such as hurricane, earthquake, flood, tsunami or conflict by delivering high-quality tented shelter and boxes of aid to help families rebuild their lives, will work in partnership with other CGI members to address emergency shelter needs around the world.

“Our participation in the Clinton Global Initiative reflects our core value of collaboration,” said Emily Sperling, president of ShelterBox USA.

“Collaboration is crucial to continued development and the effective and efficient delivery of our aid. We often work with local, national and international partners in the field. Doing so helps ensure those who most need shelter, warmth and dignity receive it as quickly as possible.”

ShelterBox currently has teams delivering aid to families affected by landslides in Uganda and conflict in South Sudan.

For more than 12 years, the organization has responded to more than 180 disasters in over 80 countries, including Haiti, Japan, Brazil, Turkey, the U.S. and more.
