The campaign partnership reflects our continued commitment to developing great safety leadership and behaviours whilst ensuring we do everything we can to protect our workforce.

Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the world’s leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has been chosen as an official European campaign partner of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2012-2013, ‘Working together for risk prevention’. The campaign encourages managers, workers, representatives and other stakeholders to work together to manage risks in the workplace.

Electrocomponents joins 57 other European organisations and companies including DuPont International, General Electric Energy (GEE), Siemens AG/ GSS HRS Health Management, Pirelli Tyre S.p.A. and Toyota Material Handling Europe (Toyota TMHE).

Electrocomponents highly values risk prevention in the workplace, believing that health and safety at work are integral to both continued economic success and a sustainable future. The company will use the campaign to support and promote its own health and safety activities as well sharing good practices with other partners. For example, it plans to combine the partnership with its campaign for 'zero lost time accidents' and expand joint risk prevention activities with its suppliers.

Dave Mason, Global Head of Health and Safety, Electrocomponents, said: “The campaign partnership reflects our continued commitment to developing great safety leadership and behaviours whilst ensuring we do everything we can to protect our workforce. In addition to the tangible benefits of being a partner, the campaign provides a solid platform for building our health and safety profile both internally and externally, such as with our suppliers like Siemens, whilst offering a great opportunity to share learning with other organisations.”

Christa Sedlatschek, Director of EU-OSHA, said, “We are delighted to welcome over 50 official campaign partners, from across all sectors, committed to working together for risk prevention. Their engagement proves that European companies and associations believe that investing in safety and health in the workplace is key to business and economic competitiveness. We hope that this partnership will have a cascade effect benefiting the whole supply chain, and workers in workplaces of all sizes, in Europe and beyond.”
