We wanted to create a model which allowed providers to start with minimal commitment and scale up with time with zero risk

Simple-Help.com’s low cost remote support software has been made available under a new license allowing complementary software providers and hosting operations to integrate and offer remote access alongside their own products and services.
Simple-Help.com has been offering a self hosted remote support server as an alternative to more expensive managed online services for a number of years. Their software has proved popular with operations both large and small and their customer base is composed of over 2,000 organisations worldwide.
Recent releases of SimpleHelp have been tailored for easy integration, not just into existing company websites for self-hosting customers but also into other software suites.
As their spokesperson explained: “Anyone can use SimpleHelp to offer remote support and deliver IT services today but now there is an opportunity for them to not just offer services using SimpleHelp but to offer SimpleHelp as a service itself.”
IT service providers already offering hosting and other services, such as online offsite backup to clients, can host their own SimpleHelp server specifically for their clients. Interested clients can share their machines with the SimpleHelp server and the provider allocates them server accounts in order to access those machines quickly and easily from anywhere in the world with all the features and comforts of a full featured SimpleHelp session. In many cases these IT service providers are located geographically near to their clients making them ideally placed to offer the service as data transmissions times will be kept low.
The move potentially also opens up new markets where dedicated and larger scale hosting providers and ISPs may want to offer SimpleHelp as an easy to use and full featured alternative to more traditional remote access methods such as RDP. Further opportunities arise in the form of integration with complementary software suites, such as remote machine management tools, where the SimpleHelp Gateway service is bundled alongside an existing agent and the server integrated with at a web level.
SimpleHelp are making their software available via the new scheme under a new low cost license to give organisations of all sizes the opportunity to offer and charge for remote access as part of their service. After an initial signup fee the ongoing cost will be billed monthly at just $1 per connected device allowing integrators to start small and scale up.
Their spokesperson continued: “We wanted to create a model which allowed providers to start with minimal commitment and scale up with time with zero risk”.
