SocialWorkDegree.org, a property of SR Education Group, has released its findings on an expert survey that was conducted over the past month. The Social Work Professional Panel was produced to provide potential social work students greater insights into how a social work education applies to a career in the field.
Potential social work students know that they want to receive an excellent education, but are unsure which qualities of social work programs should be most significant to them. By collecting the opinions of 11 professionals in the field who have attended various social work programs, the Social Work Professional Panel provides valuable information from qualified experts about the issues potential students will face and advice on how to get the most from their educational experience. The experts all attended social work education programs, ranging from Bachelors to Doctorate social work studies, and they all work in a variety of different social work fields. The experts were asked a series of questions about their educational backgrounds, as well as questions about their experiences in the post-graduation job market. Their answers were then compiled into a short report that analyzes the general trend of answers, as well as provides direct quotes from the experts themselves.
This report begins a series of interlocking studies that will be conducted with the purpose of better informing potential social work students as they begin to make decisions about their college education. Current studies are being conducted with the help of social work students and professors that are intended to shed light on student life in a social work program. These reports will be released in the coming months.
