Protec, based in Grand Prairie, Texas, is growing at a 20 per cent per year revenue rate and opened the Little Ferry office to aid its clients logistically and to save client costs when it ships electrical testing equipment for large, electrical projects in the northeastern United States.
Lane Batson heads the new office.
Says Batson: “We are already doing about a third of the total sales volume for Protec which shows that the northeastern US is a huge market for us. We expect 50 per cent revenue growth in 2012 which will mean we may soon be the largest office in terms of revenue for Protec in the United States.”
The Little Ferry office currently has two staff members but Batson sees that expanding to at least one more by the end of the year with many more to follow in 2013.
“In a geographic area that badly needs new companies moving in with new jobs, we at Protec are providing that. We are growing in the New York market, with other cities such as Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore and other metro areas among our targets.”
Batson added that the new wind farms being constructed in Vermont and elsewhere in New England will provide plenty of work for Protec as cables and other infrastructure needs testing equipment to demonstrate the efficacy of the power supply.
“We have expertise with wind power from our work in Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska and can easily apply that to the work being done in New England.”
Protec rents, leases and sells electrical testing equipment for the construction, utility and similar industries across the United States. The company has three offices in Grand Prairie, Texas, Elk Grove, Ill. and Little Ferry, N.J.
