See the personification of the word "doddering." Love the snazzy red fez on the 'banker's' head.

The popular and historic Golden Chain Theatre is holding a pair of melodramas, including one at the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Rail Road.
Renowned for the melodramas, historical plays and of course “Grub Gulch Grannies”, the Golden Chain Theatre is located two miles north of downtown Oakhurst on Highway 41, about 10 miles south of the Yosemite National Park entrance.
The cast of the Golden Chain Theatre will be performing “A Fastidious Finagling Fiasco Fixing Fresno Flats.” The melodrama is a loose interpretation to the events surrounding the circumstances when Fresno Flats was renamed to Oakhurst. The play was created to help celebrate Oakhurst’s Centennial, which is going on throughout 2012.
The plays will take place Saturday, July 15 and again Saturday, Aug. 12. Guests can enjoy a BBQ dinner at the railroad, music by Sugar Pine, and a train ride through the Sierra National Forest. The train will stop at the picnic area where guests will see the show.
Tickets are $49 for adults and $24.50 for kids. To book a table or for more information, call 559-683-7273.
The other melodrama the theatre is performing is “Treacherous Trepidations as Phossilwaite’s Find.”
According to the play’s literature, guests will enjoy all the fun of a typical melodrama, with lots of fun characters. “See the personification of the word "doddering." Love the snazzy red fez on the "banker's" head.”
Performances continue until July 29. For tickets or a full schedule of performances, go to http://www.GoldenChainTheatre.org or call 559-683-7112.
