New York, NY (PRWEB) July 12, 2012
John Thomas Financial CEO Thomas Belesis appeared as a featured guest on "Your World With Cavuto" on July 5, 2012 to discuss state tax burdens on businesses and how they affect employment. According to a recent report in the New York Times, Wall Street firms in particular are steadily moving midlevel positions to lower-tax environments.
While financial institutions like Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase have recently cut their support staff in the New York City region, their employee numbers in states like Florida, North Carolina and Utah are rising fast.
Belesis attributes the departure of finance jobs from New York to lack of confidence in the economic policies of the current administration. "Come November, as we change from an administration that is anti-business to a business-friendly administration, I think you're going to see a lot of economic activity and pent up entrepreneurial demand that's been on the sidelines," he said, expressing faith in a Romney win.
Mr. Belesis appears regularly on broadcast media, including FOX Business News and CNBC, as a panelist and contributing guest on issues regarding finance and the economy as well as national politics. He serves as the Co-Chairman of the New York State Finance Committee for the Republican Party.
