Hauserman Rental Group wants everyone to be aware of a few happenings that can’t be missed at Lake Tahoe this summer. The Tahoe events calendar is jam-packed with things to do this season, every day and all summer long, from music and arts, to bike races and full moon kayak adventures. Make this summer the time for a vacation to Lake Tahoe. With so much to do, and so many special events going on, it’s sure to be a vacation that the family will talk about for years.
“Summer is a fantastic time of year here,” said Danielle Poret with Hauserman Rental Group. “Our guests come to Lake Tahoe to relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake and the mountains, but they are always impressed by the number of events going on here throughout the summer. We even offer last minute Tahoe lodging specials that are announced every Wednesday, for people who want to plan a last-minute getaway.”
Summer and music in Lake Tahoe go together like milk and cookies. There is a Tahoe music event nearly every day throughout the summer, but the Concerts at Commons Beach music series is Hauserman Rental Group’s top pick. It is the largest free, live music event in North Lake Tahoe, and features local and national performers. Taking place every Sunday for 12 consecutive weeks, this spectacular lakeside venue invites local food and drink vendors, and there’s plenty of space for blankets and chairs. There is even a playground nearby for the kids. The music starts at 4:00 p.m. and includes renowned bands like New Monsoon and The Trey Stone Band. Enjoy the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe while listening to some great music.
Another unique event, the Lake Tahoe Concours d' Elegance Wooden Boat Show, takes place August 10th and 11th. Lake Tahoe boasts a rich boating history, and for 39 years, Tahoe Yacht Club members have been getting together to celebrate their passion for wooden boats. These elegant vessels are masterpieces of marine craftsmanship, and transport a person back to a time when aesthetics were king. This year one of the finest of these wooden beauties ever built will be featured, the Riva Aquarama. This Italian-made mahogany beauty has a reputation as a nautical legend, and has been called the Ferrari of the boat world. Last year, over 80 boats were represented, and trophies are awarded to the favorites in several categories. It’s a great way to see some history, and spend a day at the water’s edge.
For something really different, try an evening with a star guide. In the mountains just north of Lake Tahoe, at Northstar Ski Area, Tahoe Star Gazing Tours are hosted on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer. Ride the Gondola to the top of the mountain, and join the President of the Nevada Science Coalition for an educational and fun night of stargazing. This unique evening is especially popular with visitors that come here from big cities—the clear air and elevation reveals an unbelievable numbers of stars. Learn about the night sky, enjoy a poem reading, a space quiz with prizes, and a telescope viewing.
