No More Poverty, Inc. (nmp.org) is a not-for-profit charity founded by brothers Michael Omidi, M.D. and Julian Omidi. The organization’s main goal is developing a sustainable and evergreen replenishing source of jobs and new commerce in disenfranchised areas. To that end, No More Poverty provides grants and works with business and community leaders to guide entrepreneurs who desire to start companies which will create jobs and promote local commerce in economically disadvantaged areas. Fostering business development and new jobs is of the utmost importance in alleviating poverty in the long-term.
“The need for business and job development is undeniable even in the richest countries in the world,” says Julian Omidi, co-founder of No More Poverty. “The biggest problem for most disenfranchised communities is a lack of business knowledge and funding for new business and job creation. We want to assemble a team of the smartest and most innovative business leaders to help develop robust corporations in impoverished areas. This will increase the living standards of everyone in in the community, not just the less fortunate. Only in this way can the path to prosperity be perpetuated.”
A secondary initiative of No More Poverty is helping to increase awareness of and donations to charities geared toward alleviating poverty through marketing efforts and social events. Contributions of time and money are encouraged and welcome. The Omidis are also interested in recommendations for worthy partners to support and/or join their fight for No More Poverty.
