FlashPanel has a slick, modern interface and provides me with many tools that fill in the gaps left by Google's native panel,” said Jonathan Frankel, Information Systems Manager at School of Rock.

BetterCloud has added new email, workflow and access control capabilities to FlashPanel, its IT management application for Google Apps administrators. The cloud-based software is used by IT departments to manage their Google Apps domains and secure access to sensitive data. FlashPanel, which is available for free via the Google Apps Marketplace, has been installed on over 300,000 Google Apps seats since its private beta launch in May.
To reach more users faster, BetterCloud has launched a Preferred Partners program. Already, 12 of the world’s top Google Apps resellers have joined, including DoIT!, Master Concept, SIOS, ViWo, L Tech, SheepDog, Excel Micro, Cloud Sherpas, Cloud Technology Solutions, Orion Solutions, Cumulus Global and Damson Cloud. Together, these resellers serve nearly one million Google Apps users across North America, LATAM, APAC and EMEA.
“Cloud Technology Solutions is delighted to work with the BetterCloud team,” said James Doggart, CEO of CTS, a Google Apps Premier Reseller in the UK. “Our organization helps customers worldwide find best-of-breed applications for Google Apps and we've found THE Google Apps management tool in FlashPanel. We're certain our customers will immediately see its usefulness too.”
“Our partners have received extensive training on FlashPanel, and many of their customers participated in the private beta program,” said David Politis, founder and CEO at BetterCloud. “Cloud service providers have been integral to the adoption of Google Apps worldwide. We will work closely with this community to ensure organizations in various regional markets and industries have access to our solution.”
FlashPanel is the most sophisticated IT management application for Google Apps administrators. It offers simplified group administration, streamlined user management, granular email monitoring, easier structuring and modification of organizational units, and faster email signature setup across user populations. The app is used by SMBs and large enterprises across vertical markets.
The new, public version of FlashPanel includes the following enhancements:
Email settings: New email tools such as Filters, Forwarding, IMAP/POP, Send As Alias, Language, Autoreply, Web Clips and General Settings can be applied to a single user, a group of users or an organizational unit, standardizing user mail practices across the entire domain.
User de-provisioning workflow: FlashPanel’s updated User De-provisioning Workflow provides domain administrators with detailed instructions to help an admin through the complicated deprovisioning process. The workflow gives administrators the option of hiding the outgoing user in the directory, changing the user’s password, adding an account executor, setting up an auto reply and much more. The de-provisioning workflow ensures users are removed from the domain without compromising domain security or data.
Access control: The new access control features allow “super administrators” to grant certain domain management capabilities to a specific user ranging from group and user management, to email settings, shared contacts management and more. By enabling access control for a certain user, that user is granted permission to operate within the boundaries set forth by the administrator, lightening the workload of a super administrator and facilitating easier domain management.
“FlashPanel has a slick, modern interface and provides me with many tools that fill in the gaps left by Google's native panel,” said Jonathan Frankel, Information Systems Manager at School of Rock. “With FlashPanel, I can use the power of Google's APIs without delving into a labyrinth of documentation. Using the email delegation tool, I can easily allow a manager to access the inbox of an employee who recently left. The Apps Butler is a really cool feature too — I can query the bot by GChat to get a user's email and other info, so there's no need to even leave my email."
“Customer feedback gathered throughout the private beta of FlashPanel was extremely helpful during the product development process leading up to this latest version,” added Politis. “The product is by far the most sophisticated Google Apps management tool on the market and provides value to organizations of any size.”
