Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) July 17, 2012
PHD Virtual Technologies, a pioneer in virtual machine backup and recovery, and innovator of virtualization monitoring solutions, achieved record sales in the second quarter of 2012. PHD Virtual Technologies reported its largest quarterly revenue bookings in company history and eighth consecutive quarter of revenue growth. Compared to the second quarter of 2011, quarterly revenues in Q2 2012 grew 40 percent on a year over year basis. Worldwide growth from new and existing customers continued to accelerate as PHD Virtual expanded its product offerings and sales staff during the first half of 2012.
Providing easier, faster, and more scalable backup, recovery and replication for VMware vSphere and Citrix XenServer environments, PHD Virtual Technologies attributes part of its growing success to the complementary benefits of end to end virtual infrastructure monitoring for VMware vSphere and Citrix XenServer and XenDesktop environments.
“Initially I decided to purchase PHD Virtual Backup for my XenServer environment” explained PHD Virtual customer John Sieve of PLZ Aeroscience, located in St. Clair, Missouri. “But when I learned about the unique value offered by PHD’s comprehensive virtual and physical monitoring solutions, we selected PHD Virtual Monitor as well.”
Sieve explained that he had recently experienced a connectivity issue in his VDI environment but was not alerted to the problem in a timely manner. “I learned how PHD Virtual Monitor has specific tie-in’s for monitoring XenDesktop and XenApp,” he said, “and decided that PHD was the right choice for both data protection and performance monitoring of our Citrix environment. The integration into the XenServer management console really made it an easy decision.”
PHD Virtual continues to focus on ease of use and deployment, scalability, recoverability and cost effectiveness in the development of its product offerings, according to Paul Throldahl, VP of Worldwide Sales & Marketing at PHD Virtual Technologies. “Backup and monitoring software for virtual environments needn’t be intimidating,” he emphasized. “At PHD Virtual we’ve observed that many of our competitor’s products are unnecessarily complicated, forcing IT professionals to spend way too much time managing backups and restores when they don’t have to. PHD Virtual offers an easier, more effective solution that our customers value.”
A recent PHD Virtual Backup customer, Mike Wonder with Technology Service Corporation based in Bloomington, Indiana, agrees. “I completed a thorough evaluation of both PHD Virtual and Veeam software,” he noted. “PHD just had a much simpler approach with their VBA (Virtual Backup Appliance). It is easy to use, has a small footprint and does not require a Windows proxy server or SQL database.”
“As the virtualization industry has become more streamlined and automated, our customers have demanded backup and monitoring software that is effective, yet more intuitive and easy to use than ever before,” according to James Legg, CEO of PHD Virtual Technologies. “Our revolutionary virtual backup appliance with management console plug-in’s for vCenter and XenCenter has enabled us to meet and exceed customer expectations and has rewarded us with their business and trust in our products.”
Legg noted that PHD Virtual Technologies would be introducing PHD Virtual Backup, Version 6.0, later in the second half of this calendar year. “We are adding features like True Instant VM Recovery, Application Aware Backups and Optimized Cloud Backup, “ he said, “in order to expand our leadership and innovation in helping customers get the most value from their virtual IT environments.”
