If you want a real adventure, explore the High Sierras. There aren't tons of people, and you can discover the hidden meadows and trails for yourself.

Travel & Leisure Magazine recently named the A-Frame Cabin at Far Meadow one of "America's Coolest Summer Cottages", announcing that "glamping has arrived in the High Sierras!" Our only question: What took them so long?

Anyone who visits Gold Country regularly knows that Yosemite lodging is difficult to come by during the high season and even more difficult for those in search of something other than a typical "mountain lodge" style resort packed with tourist families and screaming children. We encourage travelers in search of style to look outside the National Park and opt for a stay at Far Meadow's California Cabin Rentals in the High Sierras.

"Yosemite National Park is great, but you can get the same mountain experience in other places," Far Meadow creator Veronique Lievre told highly ranked travel blog Fathom - Way to Go in an April 2012 interview. "If you want a real adventure, explore the High Sierras. There aren't tons of people, and you can discover the hidden meadows and trails for yourself."

Guests at Far Meadow can choose to stay in the modern A-Frame (as seen in Dwell Magazine and Travel & Leisure); the restored Log Cabin; or, for those who want easy access to the National Park, the Old Yosemite Road cabin, located very close to the south entrance of Yosemite. Each cabin is fully equipped with a kitchen, outdoor patio, and enough space to comfortably accommodate two to four guests.

As if that weren't enough, extra sleeping space can provided in the shape of a vintage trailer which can be placed anywhere you choose.

Far Meadow offers guests the ability to design their own California getaway full of outdoor activities ranging from hiking and cycling (bicycle provided!) to swimming in the summer and skiing in the winter. Far Meadow's also pet friendly, so don't forget to bring your pooch along for the ride!

Not headed to the mountains? The cabins at Far Meadow are part of the Boutique-Homes.com collection of modern vacation rentals and small hotels for incurably stylish nomads. The Boutique Homes collection encompasses rentals that embody high design and great architecture in some of the world's most stunning locales. As seen in the New York Times, Sunset Magazine, and Travel and Leisure.
