When it gets right down to it, companies always want talented employees on their team. No matter the condition of the economy, they know full well the advantages of hiring the best candidates available in the marketplace.

Some prognosticators are predicting a shaky second half of 2012, especially in regards to the Stock Market and the employment marketplace.
However, according to a recent poll conducted by Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms, the majority of recruiters are optimistic about the second half of this year.
Top Echelon Network conducted a poll of its Preferred Member recruiters, asking the following question: “What are your thoughts about the second half of the year regarding the activity level in your niche?”
Over half of the recruiters who participated in the poll (52.8%) indicated that they’re “somewhat optimistic,” while over a fifth of participants (20.8%) indicated that they’re “very optimistic.”
In addition, 15.1% of those polled chose “I’m decidedly neutral,” and 11.3% stated that they’re “somewhat pessimistic.”
Perhaps surprisingly, not one recruiter who participated in the poll indicated that they’re “very pessimistic” about the activity level in their niche during the second half of 2012.
According to Top Echelon Network Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti, Network recruiters have been satisfied overall with their firm’s production during the first six months of the year. That satisfaction has probably played a role in the way they view the next six months.
“Recruiters are busier now than they’ve been in the past few years,” said Codispoti. “Their clients are companies that are looking to hire, companies that want recruiters to find top-notch candidates for them. Some of these recruiters work for clients that have a need for a specific type of candidate with a particular skill set.”
While there continues to be plenty of uncertainty in terms of the economy and the fact that companies in general are skittish when it comes to hiring, there are certain employees that these companies simply can not do without.
“Companies can only cut back so far,” said Codispoti. “For some positions and some situations, they simply have to hire. When it gets right down to it, companies always want talented employees on their team. No matter the condition of the economy, they know full well the advantages of hiring the best candidates available in the marketplace.”
Top Echelon Network’s poll was conducted during the week of Monday, July 2, through Sunday, July 8.
