I have been where I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to do, with the people I wanted to be around.

Dr. Jerry Burgess is retiring from Burgess & Mason Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in September 2012. Burgess began his practice in Grapevine, Texas in 1971, and has since brought on Dr. Scott Mason as his associate in 1993 and his partner in 1998. Upon his retirement, Burgess and Mason Cosmetic & Family Dentistry will undergo a name change to Scott A. Mason, DDS Cosmetic & Family Dentistry.

With Burgess’ schedule freeing up in September 2012, he will have the opportunity to go on several medical mission trips that were once difficult to schedule between family and practice obligations. He also looks forward to hunting and fishing with his 'guys' and spending more time with his wife and family. When asked about his retirement, Burgess stated, “I have experienced thousands of friendships with some of the world’s finest people. I have been where I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to do, with the people I wanted to be around. That, to me, is a pretty solid definition of success and happiness.”

Long-term relationships based on trust and gentle care is what Burgess firmly believes in. Burgess has several families with whom he has treated three generations of patients. His main areas of dental interest are cosmetic, restorative, and geriatric care. Improving smiles and promoting overall health are his passions. He takes comfort in knowing that his patients will be cared for by Mason and staff.

Dr. Burgess has been a member of numerous civic and professional organizations and has served on the Grapevine Planning and Zoning Board and the Advisory Board of the First National Bank of Grapevine. He has served as both deacon and elder in the Church of Christ.

Burgess finished his pre-dental studies at Abilene Christian University while majoring in biology and chemistry and teaching labs. Dr. Burgess received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch in the Houston Medical Center. He has lived out of Texas for only two years while completing military service in the U.S. Army Dental Corps in Alabama and overseas.

Burgess and Mason specialize in general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry for children, teens, and adults in the Grapevine, Southlake, and Keller areas. At Burgess and Mason Family Dentistry, they offer a variety of dental treatments for brighter, healthier, happier smiles all around!
