Thomas “Tom” Casey has been selected by Jeffrey Goldshine , President of Finlay Management, Inc., to assume the role of Vice- President of Maintenance Services. With over 25 years of experience in the maintenance of multifamily housing, Tom has supported portfolios as large as 17,000 units.
According to Goldshine, “Tom brings exceptional experience to the Finlay team. He has run maintenance departments of very large management companies and has proven to be a highly effective, respected leader. His presence will translate into additional service and savings for our clients.”
As Goldshine explains, Tom’s role is to oversee Finlay’s maintenance department and monitor performance standards for the entire portfolio, using procedures and programs he has developed throughout his career. He will implement preventive maintenance initiatives and long range capital improvement plans as well as procedures for service related site issues. He will serve as an important resource for the on-site teams. In addition, he is available for due diligence and acquisition inspection assignments.
Goldshine adds, “As we expand and take on new assignments, Tom is ready with preventive maintenance programs, budgets for maintenance and capital-expense line items, and protocol for recruiting and training new team members. His standardized purchasing procedures and use of national accounts will result in real dollar savings for our clients.”
Prior to joining Finlay Management, Tom held executive leadership positions for decades. His most recent success was as Vice-President of Maintenance for a nationally recognized real estate investment company. There he was responsible for maintaining meticulous standards through the implementation of recruiting, training and preventive maintenance initiatives as he managed all ongoing maintenance and service issues. He was recognized for his efforts in developing and establishing the company's maintenance department to provide support and consistency among the portfolio. He also created programs and procedures for all service-related aspects, established major savings for capital items and worked with insurance adjustors to develop scopes of work on all major projects.
Tom Casey has been a licensed commercial improvement contractor and is approved by the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) as a Commercial General Contractor. He also holds a myriad of certifications, including HVAC, EPA, OSHA, mold remediation, among others.
