The £2M contract with Sudanese production company "Kenana Sugar" comes after recent contracts were established in Ghana, Nigeria and Afghanistan.

Assured were approached by Kenana after a devasting fire caused over $100M of damage and put a stop to their production process. The fire broke out in a control room during the Winter of 2008 and the company is taking no risks going forward.

The contract, which was secured early in June, will see the Assured team overseeing the installation of over 90 Fire Suppression systems, fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire alarm systems in addition to delivering a fully comprehensive fire safety training package.

“They needed a partner who could give them everything from specialised fire safety systems to fire training for their staff and we were one of the few companies that could provide a complete turnkey solution in all their areas of concern,” said Assured managing director Simon Stokes.
"We spent six to eight months visiting the site, putting together a full tender and we are delighted that we have now been able to complete the deal."

The competition was tough, as Assured went up against very strong opposition who were tendering from China, Italy and India.

The contract also extends to provision of complete Safety and Security training at the Kenana head office.
