Post-secondary educational institution introduces Chris Whitaker as its new president.

On July 6, 2012 Humber, the leading southern Ontario college, offering a variety of diploma and degree programs, was proud to announce Chris Whitaker as its new President and CEO. And with that announcement, Whitaker says; “Now I can officially say that Humber is the best college in Ontario.”

Previously, Whitaker was the President and CEO of St. Lawrence College, and before that, VP academic and Dean of the School of Business. With his previous positions and over 25 years working in the Ontario post-secondary sector, Whitaker’s experience and expertise are warmly welcomed by Humber. He is the fourth President and CEO in Humber’s history.

The first thing Whitaker plans to do in his new role is engage with students, faculty and staff in order to obtain a better understanding of the institution’s culture and movement. He plans on helping Humber build its strengths; particularly it’s wide range of programs and credentials, dedicated staff, and student-focused learning environment. “Ultimately, I want to foster an innovative and quality educational experience that results in students graduating and going on to the careers they desire,” says Whitaker.
