UMBC, an official training partner of Avid, the maker of Pro Tools audio production software, will offer Pro Tools 101 certification training. The Avid Pro Tools 101 Certification Training will take place on August 20-22, at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in UMBC’s Fine Arts Building.
The 101 certification is the first of five levels of Avid’s core audio curriculum for its leading industry software. UMBC’s non-credit certification course is open to individuals of all levels who wish to enhance their knowledge of and experience with audio production for film, video and game development and music. Music students, as well as industry professionals and enthusiasts will learn the software and become familiar with its capabilities, through the curriculum that will focus on Pro Tools software, functions and feature enhancements.
David Revill, Avid Certified Instructor and UMBC Assistant Professor of Music will lead the training. “We’re very excited to offer certification in Pro Tools, a leading program for the music industry,” said Revill. “The Pro Tools 101 course provides current and aspiring music professionals with advanced skills and credentials that will set them apart in the field of music technology.”
The cost of registration is $600, and includes all required course materials. Space is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to register early. Additional information and instructions for registration are at umbc.edu/protools.
