SafeLife Alarm is now Link Home Security, new name helps to differentiate company from potential competitors online and offers customers protection from other, similarly named companies with a poor BBB rating.

SafeLife Alarm, a division of Fire Protection Service Corporation, is now Link Home Security. Introduced in 2010 as a ground-breaking website where do-it-yourself homeowners and renters could configure a custom security system, Link Home Security now offers a wide range of security and home automation products including wireless security cameras.

“The new name helps to differentiate us from potential competitors online and offers our customers protection from other, similarly named companies with a poor BBB rating,” says Link Director of Marketing Justin Fawson. “It also emphasizes the ‘link’ our customers have to their security and home automation products.”

“Our customers’ systems are designed to be easily installed and maintained. The majority of our customers are not handymen or electricians; they’re people like me who prefer a ‘peel and stick’ solution that looks amazing and is easy to use,” says Fawson. “The average installation time is less than an hour.” Only two types of products carried by Link require an electrical outlet; the panels (GE’s Simon XT and 2Gig’s Go!Control) and the cameras (Alarm.com’s V700X, V520, V620PT and V520IR). Link Home Security combines a customizable security and automation solution with premium customer support. “We support our customers through every step of the process—from ordering to installation to changing a battery,” says Link Business Manager Debbie Elliott. “Our goal is to save the customer’s money by offering innovative products coupled with the support they need to take control of their security and home automation.”

Link’s customers are able to take control through a smartphone app that gives them direct access to their security and home automation products. With the app (or by logging in online), they can control door locks, lighting, thermostats and other z-wave wireless devices. They also have the ability to arm and disarm their system remotely and view live video feeds from their cameras. With many home owners and renters abandoning traditional phone lines, Link also facilitates this transition by only offering panels with a built-in cellular connection, which does not require a home phone line.

“Link is committed to your success in securing your life and property and in giving you control of your home automation from just about anywhere in the world. And we’re accomplishing this at a very low cost,” says Fawson. “We can have your custom-built system programmed and shipped to you anywhere in the US and Canada in about a week.”
