Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) July 16, 2012

KEL Attorneys announced today that it opened a new Jacksonville office located in the Deerwood area southeast of the city. The new office will be headed by attorney Jared Lopez Loucel, who earned his law degree at the Florida Coastal School of Law.

Loucel previously served in the Family Law Clinic and Legal Aid office in Jacksonville before joining a general practice firm and more recently KEL Attorneys, where he has served clients needing representation in bankruptcy and family-law issues.

Loucel is joined by a full-time paralegal. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the office located at 10151 Deerwood Park Blvd., Building 200, Suite 250. The firm accepts walk-in clients but urges people to call 888-238-2686 for appointments in order to avoid waiting to see an attorney.

KEL managing partner Matt Englett said his firm had studied the Jacksonville market and found there was a need for more affordable legal services, especially for homeowners struggling to make mortgage payments or facing foreclosure. The firm has found great success in offering free consultations and flat fees for most legal services.

“We are dedicated to making full legal services affordable and accessible to everyone,” said Englett, a former prosecutor and defense attorney who has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and on CNBC’s “The Kudlow Report.”

“Our Jacksonville clients will have access to our full staff and resources,” Englett said.

KEL law firm is one of the largest in Florida when it comes to representing homeowners seeking legal help in dealing with foreclosures or who are “underwater” and seeking relief from unaffordable mortgage payments.

The firm recently created a video to explain a new government program, called HAMP, that offers financial assistance to homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments who are facing foreclosure and may have previously been turned down for help. The video can be viewed at http://www.kelattorneys.com/media-center.

Some of the changes to the program made in recent weeks include:

  • Expanding eligibility to homeowners who did not qualify because of established debt-to-income ratios.
  • Extending help to rental property owners, which will help some investment properties.
  • Those who have been transferred for jobs may now have their former residence considered for a traditional HAMP modification.

KEL law firm was founded in 1999 and is licensed to practice in 20 states. The growing firm has 65 attorneys, with offices in Orlando, Tampa and St. Petersburg, and appointment-only locations in five additional counties throughout Florida.
