United Kingdom – (July 27, 2012) – A spider named Septimus becomes the star of two wonderful stories in “Septimus Spider and the Fairy Dress and Septimus Spider and the Missing Magic Wand”. Written by Vic Woolley, this two-part picture book was featured at the 2012 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Book Exhibit held in Anaheim, California, on June 22-25, 2012.

In the first adventure, the shy and lonely spider, Septimus, finds himself in an unusual situation. A fairy is in terrible trouble and needs his help. In the second story, the spider must embark on a quest to reclaim the Fairy Queen’s magical wand from the hobgoblins that inhabit the Dark Wood. Will Septimus be able to find courage to help both fairies? Will he be able to keep the peace in the forest? Readers will find the answers in an imaginative tale that teaches an important lesson on bravery.

Vibrantly illustrated and filled with unforgettable characters, “Septimus Spider and the Fairy Dress and Septimus Spider and the Missing Magic Wand” will charm readers from beginning to end.

About the Author
Vic Woolley, a grandfather born in London in 1932 wrote the two fairytales in “Septimus Spider and the Fairy Dress and Septimus Spider and the Missing Magic Wand” while at the hospital. The stories were created for his grandchildren and have been read in primary school.

In 2006, after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, he joined PD forums where he started writing poetry. There he created a Poetry Corner which served as an avenue for sufferers to express their feelings in rhyme and communicate with each other.
