In her new book, “God Made Me Beautiful, But I Didn't Know It” (published by AuthorHouse), writer and educator Monica Douglas Davis turns her attention to the notion of beauty, launching a thought-provoking exploration on what it is, what it isn’t and why it’s an intricate part of everyone’s lives.
“I struggled with what beauty is all of my life and after the birth of my son I was finally inspired to write about what true beauty is,” reveals Davis on the inspiration behind the book.
In “God Made Me Beautiful, But I Didn't Know It” Davis discusses 16 characteristics of beauty and gives examples of people she believes demonstrates each characteristic.
Also included is an original poem on “how everyone was born beautiful, is currently beautiful and will always be beautiful and how they should learn what their gifts of beauty are.”
Both a charming tribute to the transformational power of beauty and a self-help guide that leads readers towards recognizing their beautiful attributes, “God Made Me Beautiful, But I Didn't Know It” is an inspiring read, particularly for young readers.
When asked what she wants readers to take away from her book, Davis had a clear goal. “That we all were made by God and he has given us a beauty that only we can tap into and use to make ourselves better,” she replied. “When we are healthy mentally, we can achieve great things and make the world a better place.”
