UK charities facing a lull in income over the Summer months now have the opportunity to raise an extra £4,000 or more thanks to a new free fundraising service. In addition they will receive a corporate donation of £5 for every donor who joins the campaign.
Sell Donate Trade is the only gold and jewellery trading company to offer a free, fully managed fundraising service to all UK charities.
The family-run company, whose team also has 2 decades' experience in not for profit fundraising, is offering charities and other non-profits an additional £5 donation for every pack accepted from their donor base during July.
Customers can choose to donate all of their items' value, donate a percentage of the value and keep some cash for themselves, or simply sell their items. Whichever option they select when their pack is accepted their chosen charity will receive an additional £5 donation from Sell Donate Trade at no cost to the charity or the customer.
The average value of a pack received by Sell Donate Trade is £400, meaning that by recruiting just 10 donors to the scheme charities could stand to raise a welcome extra £4,000 or more.
Founder and CEO of Sell Donate Trade Spencer Cohen was inspired to launch the campaign because of his own experience.
“The concept of Sell Donate Trade was born out of my family jewellery background in Hatton Garden, combined with years of experience in fundraising” he says. “There are so many gold and jewellery trading sites out there and consumers are nervous about who's trustworthy. Meanwhile, charities are struggling to raise funds in the current financial climate. I saw an opportunity to bring the two together.”
Cohen is launching the offer in July in recognition of the seasonal fundraising trends many charities experience. “The Summer can be a tough time for both charities and consumers. Charities often experience a drop in income because donors are focused elsewhere. Meanwhile, consumers are looking to raise extra cash to finance a Summer holiday, pay unexpected bills or entertain the kids during the school break. Registration on the site is completely free for any non profit organisation in the UK. Every charity receives their own listing with a logo, web link and description. Sell Donate Trade also provides free marketing materials to help charities publicise the service. “We can even help with email-shots and postal mailings” says Cohen. “So many charities are time-poor and we have the resources and technology here to help them spread the word. If we can help we're only too happy to do so as it benefits everyone.”
