National Jeweler’s exclusive industry analysis, The State of the Majors 2012, features its annual $100 Million SuperSellers report, which ranks the nation’s largest jewelers according to annual sales. National Jeweler collects survey data from the nation’s largest jewelers every year. The survey criteria evaluate overall performance, sales growth, and trends and developments. JTV was ranked against 36 other companies, including Sterling Jewelers Inc., Walmart, Tiffany & Co. and Macy’s.
“We are encouraged by our move up to no. 13,” said Tim Matthews, CEO and president of JTV. “We’re working on many exciting new brands for the holiday season and expect to finish the year strong.”
Of the 36 companies analyzed on this list, 28 of those posted sales gains. According to National Jeweler, high-volume jewelers continue to be cautious regarding expenses in this economy, even to the extent of posting a net decrease in store counts. However, analysts predict growth levels this year to return to the mean and match up with general market conditions.
In order to increase profitability and attract new customers, JTV has focused on developing proprietary designer jewelry and gemstone brands at affordable pricing.
