“Buying insurance will probably always suck. After implementing our customers’ requests, we have made it suck less.”

Direct Event Insurance LLC, a subsidiary of Helios Insurance Group LLC, headquartered in Dallas, TX, announced the release of version 2.0 of its special event insurance system. The streamlined application and new lower pricing incorporates feedback from more than 300 customers that have purchased event liability insurance online from Direct Event Insurance's website.

“Our customers are the most reliable guide we have so we pay close attention,” said David Carbrey, Director of Direct Event Insurance, on the customer feedback that propelled the lower pricing and upgraded the buying experience. “Our website has always had online live support where customers can ask questions and talk with service representatives. With more than 10 customers a day providing us input, this drove the changes to our process.”

The new system is responsive 24/7 for event promoters and organizers to purchase insurance for more than 300 types of special events. Everything from private parties, street fairs, trade shows, charity fund-raisers to hip-hop concerts and sporting events can be protected against lawsuits, weather cancellation, and property damage to the event location.

“Traditionally, the insurance industry has been about pushing their products rather than responding to what customers really need, “said Helios Insurance Group’s CEO, Luke Sweetser. “Buying insurance will probably always suck. After implementing our customers’ requests, we have made it suck less.”
Mr. Carbrey firmly believes that part of doing an excellent job means being both sensitive and responsive to a customer's needs – not just slapping-on a fee and sending-out a price for insurance. “Even if your special event requires an in-depth review by an insurance risk underwriter, we take pride in the fact our customers can expect a reply within six hours or less,” remarked Mr. Carbrey. “We price, bind and issue the insurance certificate and policy all on the same day and approximately 80% of our customers can purchase their insurance coverage automatically in less than 5 minutes, receiving their proof of insurance instantly."

The website will continue to offer live support and its email suggestion box. Direct Event Insurance eagerly awaits further customer input to improve the purchasing experience.
