Vertic has announced the launch of an innovative sales training solution, which was first showcased at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto. Based on using the Xbox Kinect hardware, the solution helps Microsoft’s OEM Partners practice an elevator pitch to prospect customers.
“We have launched a Kinect application that can talk to the sales executives of leading Microsoft OEM Partners,” says Sebastian Jespersen, CEO of Vertic. “As Partner sales teams are bombarded from messages, there needs to be a higher level of engagement in the training collateral.”
Taking place in Toronto from the 8th -12th July, with more than 15,000 attendees from over 150 countries, the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference is widely regarded as one of the most impactful global, technology partner events each year.
Players of the PitchFest game at the event had the opportunity to experience a real-life sales pitch scenario to Microsoft of their personal OEM story. Based on one of three categories of applications, solutions, and hardware and devices, the game’s user is immersed into the virtual environment of a real elevator in which to perform their pitch in thirty seconds or less. Microsoft chooses winners of the best pitch from the three categories for prizes.
“We see this type of gaming application as the new wave of learning and skilling within organizations. User engagement is enlightened and retention of skill set is maximised through a pedagogical principle of learning through doing,” adds Jespersen.
