New York, NY (PRWEB) July 18, 2012
The green lifestyle site, Eco18.com, is celebrating its one year anniversary through a series of giveaways, green resolutions and a Twitter party all taking place this week. The site was created a year ago as resource for eco-friendly living on a variety of topics including food, health, organic, beauty/fashion, home, culture, nature, energy, moms/kids and pets. The group of dedicated writers behind the site come from a diverse background and share different views and perspectives on what it means to be “collectively green”, with a goal to help others learn what they can do to make a difference.
“It has always been our mission to deliver our message of eco-friendly living in a fun and practical way without being judgmental,” explains Sue Taggart, founder of Eco18.com. “We feel that everyone can make small adjustments in their daily life to be more green, and that starts with us. In recognition of our anniversary, we have put together a list of 18 green resolutions that we as team are setting out to accomplish, which include everything from using reusable travel mugs, buying recycled office paper and turning lights off when not in use. We believe it’s the little things that add up to make a big difference.”
The Eco18.com team recently planted a tree in Catskill, NY as one of their green resolutions and will check off 17 more green resolutions one by one, capturing their progress along the way on Eco18.com. Another one of Eco18.com’s green resolutions is to donate to KIVA, a non-profit which helps connect with and loan money to unique small businesses. People who loan as little as $25 can sponsor a business and help those less fortunate take strides toward economic independence.
Throughout this week, Eco18.com will be hosting daily giveaways of some of their favorite eco-friendly products to celebrate their anniversary and will also be hosting a Twitter party today from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. (EST) dedicated to the Eco18 team’s mid-year green resolutions. To participate in the Twitter party, fans can follow the site’s Twitter handle at @eco18dotcom and the hashtag #eco18turns18 to join the conversation. Everyone who joins the party by tweeting at @eco18dotcom or retweeting will be entered to win a $50.00 Whole Foods Gift Card.
