The addition of the Panasonic Toughbook rugged tablets to our Air Force IT solutions set will help technicians on the flight line by providing a versatile, handheld alternative to mobile laptops," said Intelligent Decisions' Harry Martin.
Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) July 17, 2012
Intelligent Decisions (ID), Inc., a recognized leader in federal IT solutions, announced today that the company was awarded the new rugged slate tablet category under its e-Tools U.S. Air Force (USAF) contract. As a result, ID will partner with Panasonic to deliver the Panasonic Toughbook® H2 handheld tablet, making the company the only solution provider of rugged tablets to American Air Force bases worldwide. Toughbook tablets help ensure rugged reliability to USAF technicians on the flight line or during critical missions, offering a single point of access to all the information they need to efficiently manage maintenance operations. The Toughbook H2 will be added to the e-Tools program effective immediately and ending February 2013.
The Panasonic Toughbook H2 handheld tablet runs a full OS (Windows® 7 Professional) and is the ultimate productivity tool for mobile work. The rugged slate tablet features an all-weather design, a daylight-readable touchscreen, a built-in handle, and extended battery life, making it ideal for aviation operations, including flight line maintenance, quality assurance, planning, and documentation.
USAF technicians must access technical orders and manuals, as well as parts databases, to troubleshoot and repair aircraft. This information has been digitized and technicians can now rely on a range of Toughbook computing solutions to deliver paperless technical orders.
“Ensuring successful missions means having the right tools and resources to help keep our U.S. Air Force fleet running smoothly -- and the dedicated men and women of our military safe,” said Harry Martin, president and CEO of Intelligent Decisions. “The addition of the Panasonic Toughbook rugged tablets to our Air Force IT solutions set will help technicians on the flight line by providing a versatile, handheld alternative to mobile laptops.”
”At Panasonic we are focused on engineering solutions for our military customers that provide them with access to the latest information, when and where they need it,” said Tim Collins, senior director, federal, Panasonic. “Using leading e-Tools applications from ID, our reliable Toughbook technology will enable the U.S. Air Force to manage its global fleet in the most efficient way, and help our service men and women accomplish their mission every day.”
ID was awarded a USAF contract in April for the delivery of Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers. So, in addition to this new rugged slate tablet category win by ID that was announced today, the Toughbook 31 fully-rugged notebook and Toughbook 53 semi-rugged notebook can be purchased as part of the USAF e-Tools program.
The e-Tools catalog of systems is available through AFWAY, a Web-based Air Force system for purchasing IT that provides a one-stop resource where USAF customers can quickly learn about an array of products and services.
