Seeking photo essays of four to ten photos.

pixelhose.com announced today its first photo essay contest in eight categories: Everyday Life, Children and Parenting, Travel and Places, Nature and Animals, Sports and Adventure, Emotions, Rituals, and General Category. One prize of $300, inclusive of the best category prize, is paid to the best overall entry. In addition, a $100 prize is paid for the best entry in each of the remaining categories.

All subjects are eligible. However, entries with pornographic themes, hate speech, or overly commercial submissions will not be considered.

“The key idea is to tell a story using four to ten photos,” said Bob Dourandish, pixelhose publisher. “Minimal background and caption text is permitted but, in general, entries are encouraged to use as little text as possible,” he stressed.
The contest is open to all photographers worldwide.

Color and black and white entries are accepted. All submissions are digital. However, scans of old film or slide mediums are also accepted.

Previously published material and simultaneous submissions are permitted.

The contest is free to enter. Submission Deadline is September 30, 2012.
