A group of junior and senior high school students will pack 1,000 backpacks for students in rural communities, Tuesday, July 17, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Convoy of Hope’s World Distribution Center in Springfield, Mo. The backpacks will contain a notebook, scissors, crayons and other classroom materials.

“These backpacks will be sent to churches to distribute to children in rural communities whose families often can’t afford to buy their own supplies,” says Jeff Nene, public relations director for Convoy of Hope. “It’s a chance for students to help fellow students who may be less fortunate.”

The backpacks will be distributed mostly in rural Missouri; but also in communities in Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa and Indiana.
