US-based label Funk Generation Music has released a stomping new track by international, experimental collective Soki2u, who collaborated with controversial Belgium-based digital artist Chris Von Steiner to create a thought-provoking visual feast as a YouTube clip for the track 'Complicated Lust Life'

Boys Don't Cry - by Chris Von Steiner

'Like a pop star whose songs haunt both your mind and your pants, he attempts to share with the world his most savage visions of both beauty and shadowy fear' (from www.chrisvonsteiner.com)

“When I first saw cutting edge Belgium-based digital artist Chris Von Steiner’s often psychedelic and controversial art, I was gobsmacked’, says composer Derek Schuurman, who founded the international, experimental and multi-genre musical collective Soki2u. ‘ At the time, Chris was exploding onto the European art scene: coverage of his work was prolific, and it continues... For example, he has just been commissioned to contribute a piece called “The Lamb of God” by the Civic Museum of Bassano del Grappa in Italy, something well worth checking out if innovative art and thinking outside the box is your thing.”

Recorded in London, the song ‘Complicated Lust Life’ was remixed by NYC-based producer The Invisible Kid, whose club edit held the Number 1 slot for at least 8 months on the Dancefix Top 50 Chart. “I felt strongly that something about the simple if somewhat twisted lyrics fitted well with some of Chris’s paintings, so with his permission I put together a visual feast for a Youtube clip, which racked up 26,000 views and counting’, says Derek Schuurman. In May 2012, US-based producer Mike Rizzo released the single under his label Funk Generation Music.
