There is always a need for people to remind themselves of their core functions in the world and remind themselves of the elements of life—peace, love, faith, hope and belief—for them to understand life, death and human civilization. In "Acknowledgments of Growth," author Mapaseka Prudence Tshuwa takes readers on a meaningful and life-changing poetic journey and adventure. This wonderful collection enfolds meaningful expressions, insightful revelations and thoughtful musings that bring enlightenment and inspiration.

Divided into three segments, this poetry collection underscores love as the beginning of life, death as the end of it and the countries’ progress depends on how the people embraced love and death in their different forms. The poems depicted in this compilation exude vibrant feelings and show actions to be taken when one is living in this world. It is a book where one can relate to the culture represented—including the loss and love thereof. It inspires readers to acknowledge their growth as human beings and drives them to be in touch with their spirituality, culture and religious beliefs.

Insights, inspiration and a deeper understanding about life, death and human civilization are only few of the essential things everyone can get from this collection. As they discover the essence of the poet’s heart and soul, readers will also explore the depths of their own lives, which will lead them to a meaningful and more purposeful existence.
