Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 17, 2012
Bel Brands USA has again been named one of “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™” by the National Association of Business Resources (NABR). Bel Brands USA manufactures and markets The Laughing Cow cheese wedges and Mini Babybel – America’s #1 branded snacking cheese, as well as Boursin, Merkts, Kaukauna and other natural and gourmet cheese spreads.
Bel Brands USA was named Chicago’s “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” from 2009 – 2012 and also named as one of the “Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™” in the country in 2011.
“Bel Brands USA has more than doubled in size over the past four years. Our success depends on attracting and retaining top talent by creating a satisfying and rewarding work environment where employees can achieve their highest potential,” said Lance Chambers, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are very proud to once again be recognized as a great place to work and one of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For,” adds Chambers.
Some of the areas in which Bel Brands USA ranked highest included Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Employee Achievement and Recognition; and Work-Life Balance. Chicago-based Bel Brands USA has approximately 700 employees in the U.S and is a subsidiary of Paris-based Fromageries Bel, a world leader in branded cheese.
The company currently has two U.S. manufacturing plants located in Little Chute, Wis. and Leitchfield, Ky. In June 2012, Bel Brands USA broke ground on the construction of its third U.S. manufacturing facility in Brookings, SD. Bel will invest $100 million in the new production facility, which is expected to be operational by mid-2014 and will employ an estimated 275 people in phase one.
“The selection, recognition and awarding of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™ allow businesses to showcase their best practices and demonstrate why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work. This year’s winning companies represent high standards and are an example for other companies to emulate,” said Jennifer Kluge, NABR president.
An independent research firm evaluates each company’s entry in several categories, including: Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Employee Enrichment and Retention; Employee Education and Development; Recruitment; Selection and Orientation; Employee Achievement and Recognition; Communication and Shared Vision; Diversity and Inclusion; Work-Life Balance; Community Initiatives; and Strategic Company Performance.
