A sampling of the lovely ladies and gentlemen who have received the Jumbo Whitman’s Sampler box and a Kiss Me I’m 100 Hat in celebration of their 100th birthdays.

All these years, it’s been a wonderful chocolate candy. I always felt like when we were eating Whitman’s, we were eating the best. Whitman’s candy has always been special.

If Woody Guthrie, America’s folk hero, were alive today, you can be sure he’d be receiving America’s most famous box of chocolates, the Whitman’s® Sampler®, and a Kiss Me I’m 100 Hat. He would be 100 years old in 2012, the same sweet year as the Sampler®. Whitman’s is commemorating this incredible milestone with the Kiss Me, I’m 100 Giveaway. Whitman’s is sending a Jumbo Sampler® and a Kiss Me, I’m 100 hat to anyone born in 1912. From California to the New York Island, emails and letters have been pouring in from daughters, sons, granddaughters, and friends to request this special gift for their Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, friend, or neighbor.

Whitman’s candy has always been special,” says Alice Buckley of Barling, Arkansas, one of the first centenarians to receive a jumbo Sampler and hat as part of the Whitman’s® Sampler®’s Kiss Me I’m 100 Giveaway. Lois Aldrich of Sorocco, New Mexico loves Whitman’s chocolates. Lois’ granddaughter says, “You won’t find a more deserving or enthusiastic fan of your chocolates! They are what she requests when we ask her what she would like as a gift.” Ruth Salmon of San Leandro, California credits her love for chocolate as being one of her reasons for such a long life.
