New York, NY (PRWEB) July 19, 2012
ModiFace Inc., the leading virtual makeover technology provider that powers over 100 web and mobile applications, today is announcing the launch of its 2012 Edition Virtual Makeover Technology which features significant updates and new functionalities.
The 2012 ModiFace Virtual Makeover tool features an updated facial recognition and feature detection system which automatically maps the lips and eyes to remove the need for calibrating dots manually. Also, it includes patented ShadeMatch color representation technology for true-to-life representation of colors and application styles. Users can also use any photo on Facebook to start their makeover and can save and share the results on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google+. All products tried on can also be purchased directly from the tool.
The new technology, which was created entirely in HTML (not Flash), can be fully used on any web, mobile, or tablet device. It also includes a skin-care section that simulates effects such as acne reduction, brightening, and dark spot correction as well as an anti-aging section that simulates effects such as facelift, Rhinoplasty, and lip augmentation.
“With every single feature of the 2012 Edition tool, we focused on creating something that was significantly ahead of any current product and which redefined how consumers interact with virtual try-on tools,” said Dr. Parham Aarabi, founder and CEO of ModiFace.
Another innovative feature of the new technology is a conversational beauty advisor that instantly responds to user questions and comments. Asking it to “find a shadow under $30” results in the system showing only products under $30. Or, asking it to “show me a look for my date tonight” results in user-specific recommendations based on the user’s photo. If a user asks about a specific application style or technique, the system plays a relevant video alongside the virtual makeover. On the iPad/iPhone, the conversational system can function with a voice-activated interface.
“The conversational beauty advisor is one of the most compelling features of this new tool, enabling information, recommendations, deals, and videos to be integrated directly within the user’s virtual makeover experience. Our goal with this feature was to virtually recreate the beauty counter experience, enabling users to interact with the makeover tool by simply asking questions,” said Jennifer Tidy, ModiFace’s Director of Partnerships.
Finally, with hair styling and coloring being central in any virtual makeover experience, the 2012 ModiFace technology features a unique style-your-own-hair functionality, that allows users to try out celebrity hairstyles, cut them with a scissors tool, and to reshape them with a comb, straightener, curler, and blow-dryer tools, and to color them.
“Until now, virtual hairstyling has consisted of putting a hairstyle cutout on your photo with minimal capability for adjustment. What we have done is to go beyond this by providing specific styling tools that users could experiment with, including scissors, combs, and curlers," said Jennifer Tidy.
