The life of an educator is often more interesting than many are led to believe. Diane T. Martin, M.Ed. and Linda V. Thomas, BA, educators for more than 60-plus years combined, have a number of exciting stories to tell. In their new book, “Education: Roast & Toast – Anecdotes of 60+ Years of Teaching” (published by iUniverse), they pen a collection of education foibles, revealing the often humorous interactions among students, teachers and administrators.

Through their tongue-in-cheek exploration of the comical adventures, unpredictable mishaps and baffling challenges that teachers encounter on a daily basis, Martin and Thomas allow educators to be seen as they are: eccentric, imperfect and vulnerable, in spite of their degrees, knowledge and experience.

While taking a playful look at the backward evolution of education, Martin and Thomas teach other educators, administrators, and even students the art of laughing at themselves without losing sight of the seriousness of the profession.
