Lydia Ostermeier Joins B. E. Smith as Associate Vice President, Executive Search

B. E. Smith has hired Lydia Ostermeier as associate vice president for the firm’s Executive Search division. An accomplished healthcare executive with more than 15 years of experience in leadership positions, she will assume her new duties at B. E. Smith on July 30th.

B. E. Smith has hired Lydia Ostermeier as associate vice president for the firm’s Executive Search division. An accomplished healthcare executive with more than 15 years of experience in leadership positions, she will assume her new duties at B. E. Smith on July 30th.

In her new role, Ostermeier will lead a team responsible for vetting and screening healthcare executives to ensure a perfect fit for B. E. Smith clients. She joins a team of seasoned executive search consultants whose placements have consistently delivered tenure far exceeding the national industry average. Ostermeier brings extensive experience in healthcare recruitment, retention and workforce development, according to Mark Madden, senior vice president of executive search, B. E. Smith.

Prior to joining B. E. Smith, Ostermeier was director of nursing and patient care services recruitment, retention, workforce development and resource center at Indiana University Health. She led recruitment initiatives for the healthcare system which includes 20 hospitals and health centers and more than 25,000 employees.

Ostermeier earned a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Indianapolis and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. She has served on the board of directors for the National Association for Health Care Recruitment (NAHCR) for the past five years, most recently as president. She is a certified healthcare recruiter by NAHCR and is a noted speaker and publicist in the areas of nurse recruitment, retention and workforce planning.
