Outward Media, Inc. (OMI) announced today that with the most recent update, its B2B online marketing data platform, BizFACTZ, now contains more information on the small-to-medium sized (SMB) and Small-Office-Home-Office (SOHO) business markets.

Today, the small business segment is the US economy's fastest growing market sector. With more small businesses springing up everyday, they are a hot target for both US and global companies. The sector is highly profitable, and as it continues to grow it is expected to continue to help fuel the US economic recovery.

Traditionally, it has been difficult to identify these business executives (particularly within the smaller companies), as business marketing data firms have had a hard time identifying them and their correct contact information. Since OMI compiles both business and consumer databases, the company has isolated this rich contact information for these small businesses. For example, many of these businesses have not yet established a website -- so no business domain exists. Due to this, these business executives may use a "consumer" or ISP email address (i.e.,, as their primary business email address. As a "consumer-like" email address, it has been difficult for business marketing data compilers to identify these business executives in the past.

Much research has been conducted on the preferences of this market sector. In terms of business communication channel, it has been found that the overwhelming majority within SMB and SOHO sectors prefer the email marketing channel for their business communications. Most prefer email because they can address it at their convenience and it is less of an interruption in a business owners' busy schedule.

This research compelled OMI to mine both business and consumer data stores in order to identify these business owners at their preferred email address for business communications. This data is now available on the BizFACTZ platform.

To use BizFACTZ, a company simply registers to use the database. Once they sign up, they can select business size by either number of employees or sales revenues to better target these smaller businesses (along with a full suite of business industry and firmagraphic information), then download the records to use in postal, email and telemarketing campaigns.
