Organizers Announce First Trout Run Bicycle Century Tour

Trout Run Bicycle Century Tour scheduled for September 22. Route set from Neosho National Fish Hatchery to Cassville, Missouri.

“This year we really ramped up our school-based dental care,” said Don McBride, ACCESS Family Care CEO. “Although we leverage all the payer sources we can to keep the services free, there are still many poor kids who need major care.”

ACCESS Family Care, Bicycle Specialists, and Harris Insurance Agency are sponsoring the Inaugural Trout Run Bicycle Century Tour, Saturday, September 22. Cyclists from across the area depart the Neosho National Fish Hatchery at 7:30am, for rides of various lengths, 20, 50 and the longest a 100 mile route to Cassville and back.

Funds raised through this event provide dental care for underprivileged school children as well as benefit the Joplin Trail Coalition in maintaining area hiking and biking trails.

A meal is provided for cyclists on their return to the Hatchery.

“Ever since I took up cycling in 2008 I’ve wanted to complete a century ride,” said Fred Harris, Owner, Harris Insurance Agency. “I’ve gotten close before but look forward to finishing this year as part of the first Trout Run event.”

Rest stops are provided every 10-15 miles along the tour route. The Trout Run is seeking sponsors for various stops. For sponsorship opportunities contact Don McBride, dmcbride@accessfamilycare.org, 417-451-9450, ext. 212.
