“We’re pleased to offer Prism Suite 13.0, because it delivers both powerful functionality and simplicity - IT administrators don’t have to choose between the two.

New Boundary Technologies®, a 27-year pioneer in providing innovative software and service solutions, today announced the release of Prism Suite® 13.0, its integrated Windows® configuration management solution that enables IT teams to work faster, smarter and with more control and accuracy than ever.

Prism Suite is built upon a powerful, three-part foundation - comprehensive application deployment and application packaging, hardware and software asset management (leveraging the world’s largest software recognition database), and Windows security patch management. Prism Suite makes extensive use of patented SmartUpdate™ technology, which allows administrators to define the information they need and receive the answer from the intelligent New Boundary Technologies’ client. SmartUpdate enables “set and forget” for many aspects of Windows device management, a key requirement for enterprises that are doing more with less.

Prism Suite 13.0 reflects New Boundary Technologies’ continued commitment to making complex technology, specifically:

  •     Prism Suite’s role-based security model is extended with Task Group security to insure that sensitive or mission-critical deployment tasks can be made accessible only to experienced Prism Suite administrators. Task Group security works by preserving a role’s overall task-related permissions, while still protecting individual tasks in secured Task Groups. For example, in a healthcare organization the Help Desk role could be allowed to deploy most tasks, but be restricted from deploying any of the EMR applications.
  •     A new Windows Installer (MSI) task wizard leads Prism Suite users through a simple process for creating and configuring MSI application deployments. Windows Installer deployments can be complex to get right, because they support numerous command-line parameters. In addition, they behave differently depending on the operating system of the target computer and its User Account Control (UAC) setting. The new wizard eliminates the configuration complexity! Once the Windows Installer task is ready for deployment, the New Boundary Technologies client does the right thing, regardless of the target operating system platform or the UAC level.

“We’re pleased to offer Prism Suite 13.0, because it delivers both powerful functionality and simplicity - IT administrators don’t have to choose between the two. Combined with our live, local and comprehensive technical support, Prism Suite is the easiest to own Windows configuration management solution on the market”, said Tom Diamond, president at New Boundary Technologies.
