Colorado Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) July 23, 2012
The Colorado Springs Technology Incubator (CSTI) today announces Startup Factory, a free bullpen workspace that offers entrepreneurs a collaborative work site for developing their startups. Startup Factory is located on the first floor of the Incubator and is furnished with desks, chairs, and whiteboards, which are free for qualifying entrepreneurs to use.
In addition to providing free workspaces, Startup Factory offers the following:
- Free high speed internet access
- Plenty of free on-site parking
- Use of the Incubator’s conference and meeting rooms (first come, first serve basis as space is available)
- Access to high-speed color printer (for a small fee to cover cost of paper and ink)
- Coffee and refreshments (available at cost)
“The Colorado Springs Technology Incubator is committed to helping our region’s entrepreneurs and properly staging them for investment,” said Ric Denton, CEO of CSTI. “Startup Factory is about bringing together like-minded startup entrepreneurs in a nurturing environment and giving them access to legitimate advice and the tools they need to succeed.”
Startup Factory: A Safe Haven for New Companies
Research shows that bad personnel decisions about equity, partners, hires and investors drive most startups’ early failures.* Improper planning and execution, combined with inadequate capitalization can also lead to startups’ early demise.
“There’s a lot of poor advice out there, which can seriously damage or kill a new company,” said Robert Vincent, founder and CEO of ABA Revolution, a company specializing in web-based autism behavioral therapy. “Entrepreneurs must be very careful about who they invite on their journey and what advice they take.”
“Thanks to the Incubator and its Startup Factory, new businesses will have a safe, supportive haven where they can learn, grow and flourish,” said Dr. Alan Davis, a successful entrepreneur, business strategist, and mentor at the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator. “At the Incubator, entrepreneurs are surrounded by like-minded individuals and plenty of professionals who have ‘been there already’ to help guide them through the tough times and help them integrate all aspects of their business.”
“I’m incredibly grateful to the Incubator team for their wisdom and expertise, which have been invaluable to my company during our early startup phase,” added Vincent.
Startup Factory is open during the Incubator’s business hours: Monday-Friday 9 am – 5 pm. Qualifying entrepreneurs can use the Startup Factory’s work spaces on a drop-in basis.
To qualify for a free Startup Factory membership, you must be a founding member of a high-growth business (or an idea with high-growth potential). Examples of high-growth companies include a web service, software or SaaS product, hardware or electronic device. These businesses can typically increase revenues and number of employees, and often require professional investors.
