Contrary to media reports, Mr. Hedglin's case was not set for trial. In fact, no plea had been entered in regards to the remaining charges. Our firm had not had any contact with Brian after his court appearance on July 12, 2012.

The Law Offices of McDowell Laybourne & Rodemer, LLC are deeply saddened by the events surrounding our client Brian Hedglin and Christina Cornejo.
Mr. Hedglin had retained McDowell Laybourne & Rodemer, LLC to represent him for a number of charges, including an alleged felony criminal mischief, and other misdemeanor charges. Mr. Hedglin's only felony charge was amended to a misdemeanor charge on July 12th. These allegations come as a complete shock to the firm, due in part to the recent significant progress in his pending charges, including the dismissal of the only felony count.

Mr. Rodemer stated that "Contrary to media reports, Mr. Hedglin's case (#2012CR918, El Paso County District Court) was not set for trial. In fact, no plea had been entered in regards to the remaining charges. Our firm had not had any contact with Brian after his court appearance on July 12, 2012."
At this time, Mr. Hedglin's family asks the media and the public for privacy as they deal with this incredibly difficult experience.
