Australian writer, Tim Hawken, has just released his much-awaited second novel; "I Am Satan". The controversially titled book is the sequel to his cult hit "Hellbound" and has been launched in both Paperback and eBook formats.

“It’s been a year and a half in the making,” Hawken said of the release. “I’m really excited that it’s out there and fans will be able to continue the adventure. There’s been an amazing show of support on Twitter and other social-media networks asking for a follow up to the cliff-hanger ending of "Hellbound", so here it is!”

Hawken’s first novel, "Hellbound", was met with strong critical reviews on its debut and even garnered the attention of Hollywood. Twilight star, Charlie Bewley, is currently developing a film adaptation of the novel with the author.

“Hawken's take on the dynamic of Heaven, Hell and Earth is as unique as it is genius,” Bewley said of the work. “The philosophical undertones to this brilliant tale give everyone something to consider, without confusing what is a multi-dimensional thriller of epic proportions. I'm delighted to be working with Tim on the screenplay adaptation of Hellbound. It is Hollywoodbound!"

I Am Satan is the second instalment of what has now been revealed as a trilogy. The series creates a contemporary twist on what Hell and the afterlife might be like, exploring universal themes such as sin, revenge and the redeeming power of love.

Tim Hawken was first discovered on an online writer's forum by UK publisher, Dangerous Little Books. After his wife Tara was diagnosed with cancer, Tim decided to quit his day-job as a marketing manager for surf company Billabong in Indonesia to pursue writing full time. "Life's too short to grind away at something you're not passionate about,” he said. “Taking the leap to pursue my dreams is the most rewarding thing I've ever done professionally."

Lucy McCarraher, commissioning editor at Tim’s new publisher, Rethink Press, had this to say of the release: “We’re delighted to be involved in the second instalment of Tim Hawken’s unique saga, I Am Satan. His first book showed encouraging cult-success and, I truly believe this story has the potential to go onto great things, which is why we’ve agreed to publish both this and the final book in the trilogy.”

I Am Satan (ISBN 978-1-78133-002-9) is available in paperback and ebook format online and in all good bookstores A Hardback edition is scheduled for release in the Autumn.
