“The world already has big time movie stars as heroes who depict the subtleness of a true champion, now comes October.”

Curtis R. Cochran’s religious-themed novel “The Black House” (published by AuthorHouse) is a book about the life of a black man living in a world of sin, who looks for ways to make the world a better place and help bring people together.
Cochran’s protagonist, October, wants to see humanity strive for a better relationship with each other, but like many, October feels like a man set apart from others. After he inherits wealth, October sets out from New Orleans to see and, hopefully, change the world for the better.
Cochran’s central message with “The Black House” is one of hope and acceptance. “It tells the story of a man who has a dream for his people and for the world to see that everyone has a place in the world whether good or bad, Gentile or Jew,” Cochran writes. “The world already has big time movie stars as heroes who depict the subtleness of a true champion, now comes October.”
Cochran, who left New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and experienced much of that event firsthand, describes himself as a man who “… lives in this country where life for me is not easy. But who is to say that life is peaches and cream?” This same sense of determination is found in his characters, especially October.
Readers of “The Black House,” Cochran hopes, will discover for themselves that “… the place where you are raised is blessed compared to the catastrophes we see around the world. This life is beautiful.”
