Novel’s Plucky Heroine Gets Second Chance at Love

Author Cyn Hazel pens story of love triangles, deceit, rebuilding trust in “I Surrender”

CHRISTIANSTED, U.S. Virgin Islands (PRWEB) July 21, 2012

A successful young writer is reunited with a former flame and finds herself caught up in a love triangle filled with lies, drama and uncertainty in “I Surrender” (published by iUniverse), the well-crafted romance novel from author Cyn Hazel.

Vashti Williams, a 25-year-old journalist, longs for romance but has given up on finding an honest gentleman. Still heartbroken over the man who betrayed her, Vashti has promised herself that it’s best to focus on furthering her career and shuts herself off to any possibility of love.

When Vashti receives an assignment to travel to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, she welcomes the opportunity to travel and is flattered that she was chosen to write a feature article on an up-and-coming Crucian male model. Vashti’s enthusiasm falters, however, when she learns the model’s name: Ramon Perez.

Taken aback at discovering her subject’s identity, Vashti must accept that possibility that she may be about to come face-to-face with the love she left behind in Spain five years prior. But with so much time and distance separating the jilted lovers, Vashti can only hope against hope that the man’s name is nothing more than an innocuous coincidence.

The male model turns out to be none other than the very same Ramon Perez from Vashti’s past. Nevertheless, the two agree two meet for the interview, and almost immediately the sparks of their old romance begin to rekindle.

Ramon, now engaged and planning a lavish wedding, finds himself ensnared in a complex love triangle when it becomes obvious that he and Vashti still have strong feelings for one another. As they both struggle not to cross the line, tempers flare and hearts are broken all over again. Hazel crafts a complex, relatable heroine who refuses to play the damsel in distress. But will she find the courage to surrender her heart once again?

“Surrender to life and love,” Hazel implores readers. “Stop holding on to the things that hurt because they do really make you stronger and prepare you for something better.”
