On July 19, 2012, social media marketing agency, fishbat, released a statement discussing the new relationship between World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) and video-sharing platform, Tout, following the July 16th, 2012 airing of their 999th episode of Monday Night Raw.
Tout allows users to record 15-second videos messages using either a webcam or a smartphone. The WWE was able to drive users to Tout by asking them to send Touts describing their favorite moment in Monday Night Raw’s history.
This partnership has proven to be very effective. According to an article on Mashable Tout was downloaded by iOS and Android users over 30,000 times since Raw aired on July 16th and over a million Tout posts were watched during and after the show. Part of this growth is being driven by WWE’s special Tout page on their website which can be seen here.
