The Million Lights singer and “Thoroughly Modern” comedian both announced UK tours this year and since then, fans have been clamouring for tickets.
Cheryl is kicking off her first ever tour in Belfast at the Odyssey Arena on the 3rd of October, before travelling around the country and then descending on her hometown of Newcastle for a two date homecoming on the 16th and 17th.
Sarah Millican starts and ends her tour, in the city, at the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre. Starting on Friday the 21st of September and ending on Tuesday the 9th of October. Demand was so popular for the Thoroughly Modern Millican show that she has also just announced two shows at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London, on the 3rd and 4th November.
Newcastle Airport Parking continually check any unexpected rises in sales against major events, both locally and nationally, and this time they have noticed a direct link between the girls’ non-Newcastle dates and the amount of people booking long-term parking at the airport.
Late September and early October are normally quite quiet times for the long-stay parking business, as schools are not quite on their Autumn break yet, students are all back at University or College , and many of the usual holiday hotspots are in their off season. But this year, thanks to two of South Shields’ biggest exports the numbers have shot right up.
Newcastleairportparking.com carry out year on year sales comparisons at the beginning of each month and July’s report was a pleasant surprise for the company. The figures contained in the report actually show that they have steadily grown their sales over the last few months, in comparison with the same dates last year. On top of that they show that September and October have 37% more pre-booked spaces, this year than they did at this time in 2011.
Customers travelling to one of the tour venues, which range from Manchester and London, to Glasgow and Liverpool, can take advantage of Newcastle Airport Parking, and its Best Price Guarantee. They promise that people that book their parking with them will not find the same quality of parking and security, anywhere else for less. It seems that the citizens of Newcastle and the surrounding towns like Durham, Darlington and Sunderland are big fans of supporting home-grown talent, and getting a great deal.
Newcastle Airport Parking said that they hoped that this was just the beginning of a new trend and that they would definitely be paying attention to other local stars and whether they decided to go on tour, in the future. With Joe Mcelderry’s classical career set to take off, they wonder if maybe he will be the reason for the next big rise in sales.
Of course Newcastle Airport Parking can’t guarantee that Cheryl and Sarah’s tour dates are the only reason for the unexpected spike and would like to think that the return of the best price guarantee and their undeniably high levels of security, and dedication to customer service have something to do with it.
Much like the Geordie duo, Newcastle Airport Parking and Manchester Airport Parking Centre want to make sure that the people that visit them, or come see them, or buy their services, have the best experience possible. Customers that have bought tickets for any of the mentioned shows, or in fact any gig at all, and that intend to fly can visit Newcastle Airport Parking and check out the deals themselves
