What are the characteristics of a true lady? This new era has greatly strayed away from the foundation taught by man’s ancestors. Basic rules shared at the kitchen table years ago with little girls has since been lost for many. Times have changed but author Marcia L. Parks believes that the basic foundation of morals and values should never change. Seeking to re-establish and refresh the principles that were once second nature for some and caught on by others, she brings readers Back to the Basics.

In this book, Parks discusses topics related to respect, manners, etiquette, relationships, children, and sisterhood to name a few. This guide was inspired by a quote she once read, “If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.” If there is no guide or direction then chaos is inevitable. Back to the Basics should be used as a guide and reference code of conduct to assist in opening conversations concerning values for today's woman. It can be a powerful tool for years to come.

Through her inspiring book, the author hopes that women both young and old will be enlightened, encouraged, and inspired to pass the torch to become better citizens and contributors to the world around them.
