In 2009, Philatron was honored to be the chosen UL Listed EV Cable supplier of BMW’s first line of Electric Vehicles, with the MINI-E. After three years, and an impressive database of OEM customers, Philatron has listened and responded to the industry’s cable management issues; bulky unruly cables being mistreated and damaged after use, and what’s worse, letting them lay on the ground for further damage. In came the introduction of the “coiled cable” or “retractile cable” to keep the wires up off the floor. However, after many EV coil cable sales, it was requested by industry professionals to provide a completed assembly, with connector.
Innovation has always been a strong feature of Philatron Wire and Cable’s CEO/Owner/Founder, Phil Ramos, Jr. Phil and his team of EV cable experts designed the industry’s first, virtually indestructible, UL Listed J1772 connector and coiled cable assembly. Philatron is the only USA manufacturer who is completely committed to manufacture a flexible coiled cable design, built to last, built to customer’s desire, and a J1772 connector/handle. Philatron’s version, Flex-EV J1772, will offer users comfort with its sleek ergonomic handle. This gives the user a more natural, comfortable feel for use. Philatron Flex-EV J1772 is still in the concept stage and plans to begin full production in November, 2012. Flex-EV J1772 is patent pending and will become available in custom colors with options of a private label. This complete assembly design is manufactured in the USA, both electrical cable and connector with the highest quality raw materials from USA manufacturers.
Philatron has over 100 years of electrical engineering experience in the production of manufacturing electrical wire and cable. Philatron’s cable experts added a new division of molded plugs and connectors for completed assemblies after realizing the demand and value of producing flexible power cords, extension cords, and EV Cords for OEM companies and distributors. Phil Ramos, Jr. states, “manufacturing excellence in America is still alive and we will do all we can to provide solutions to this growing market; we want to do what is best for electric cars and their appreciated designers, manufacturer’s and owners!” Philatron will proudly unveil their new product at Plug-In 2012, San Antonio, TX this week.
